An open CRES seminar focused on "the interaction between CRES and other climate and climate adaptation research projects" was held on June 14 from 13-16.30 at GEUS. The seminar gathered around 30 participants representing different research groups and projects focused on various aspects of climate change and climate change adaptation as well as members of the Coordination Unit for Research in Climate Change Adaptation (KFT). The seminar program can be found below (pdf's of all the presentations may be obtained by following the "download" links). The afternoon was concluded by an open discussion on the possibilities for collaboration between CRES and other climate and climate adaptation research projects (see below). In this context the importance of ensuring that the data produced may be used further down the line, e.g. for integrated assessments and societal and economic impact studies, was raised, suggesting that some degree of coordination and possibly harmonisation on a technical and scientific level, should be considered. As a result it was agreed that CRES will take the lead on two joint mini-conferences/theme meetings (1- or 2-days events) scheduled for 2012 and 2013, respectively, which will address some of these common technical and scientific issues. The annual mini-conferences will be aimed at researchers and professional stakeholders within the areas of climate and climate change adaptation. Suggested date(s) for the first meeting in 2012 will be circulated as soon as possible. |
